Junichi Suwabe, Kana Hanazawa Narrate Trailers for Kōtarō Isaka's Latest Novel

posted on by Kim Morrissy

Voice actors Junichi Suwabe and Kana Hanazawa narrated four promotional videos for mystery writer Kōtarō Isaka's latest short story collection novel Kujira atama no Ōsama (The king with the whale head). Both actors narrate lines over a video of a shoe-billed stork (otherwise known as the whale-headed stork). The videos were posted by the NHK's online magazine on Monday.

Each video narrates lines from a different short story. It's worth noting that the actors change their voice depending on the video. For example, in the second embedded video, Hanazawa sounds cheerful and youthful, while in the fourth embedded video, she sounds like an older lady type.

Kujira atama no Ōsama went on sale on Tuesday. Suwabe and Hanazawa have plans to perform together on a radio commercial for the book in August.

Suwabe is best known for his roles as Archer in the Fate/stay night franchise, Undertaker in Black Butler, Grimmjow Jeagerjaques in Bleach, and Shota Aizawa in My Hero Academia. Hanazawa is a prolific voice actress known for playing characters such as Owarimonogatari's Nadeko Sengoku, Oreimo's Ruri Gokō, Infinite Stratos' Charles Dunois, Durarara!!'s Anri Sonohara, Bungo Stray Dogs's Lucy M., Psycho-Pass' Akane Tsunemori, and Tokyo Ghoul's Rize Kamishiro.

Hanazawa recently narrated the audiobook of Stan Lee's Alliances: A Trick of Light.
