Persona 5 Game Gets Stage Play in December

Play starring Hiroki Ino runs in Osaka, Tokyo

Atlus' Persona 5 role-playing game is inspiring a stage play in Osaka and Tokyo in December. The play, titled Persona 5 the Stage, will run at Hotel Mielparque Osaka from December 13 to 15, followed by The Galaxy Theatre from December 19 to 29.

The play's cast includes:

  • Hiroki Ino as protagonist (seen above)
  • Kouhei Shiota as Ryūji Sakamoto
  • Yuki Odera as Ann Takamaki
  • Yoshihide Sasaki as Gorō Akechi
  • Kōji Kominami as Yūsuke Kitagawa
  • Kaoru Marimura as Sae Niijima
  • Taishū Nukanobu as Yūki Mishima
  • Yū Saotome as Shiho Suzui

Hideyuki Nishimori (Danganronpa, My Hero Academia stage plays) is directing the play and writing the script.

Persona 5 shipped for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan on September 15, 2016. The game shipped in North America on April 4, 2017 after a delay. The game features animation sequences from the Production I.G studio.

The 26-episode television anime series based on the game premiered in April 2018 and aired through September. Aniplex of America streamed the series on Crunchyroll and Hulu as it aired.

A special, PERSONA 5 the Animation: Dark Sun, aired in December. Crunchyroll is streaming the first special. The show's second special, PERSONA 5 the Animation: Stars and Ours, aired in March. The anime's 11th home video release, which shipped on May 29 in Japan, included both PERSONA 5 the Animation: Dark Sun and an unaired episode.

The Persona 5 Royal (Persona 5 The Royale in Japan) role-playing game will launch for PS4 in Japan on October 31. The game will then launch in the Americas, Europe, and Asia in 2020.

Atlus is also working with Koei Tecmo Games' Omega-Force subsidiary on a separate new game in the franchise titled Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. The game will be the series' first action role-playing game.
