Anime Central announced on Wednesday that it will host novelist FUNA and illustrator Itsuki Akata at next year's event.

FUNA launched the Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! (Watashi, Nōryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne!) light novel series with Akata's illlustrations on the "Shōsetsuka ni Narō!" (Let's Become Novelists!) website in January 2016. Neko Mint launched the manga adaptation of the novels on Earth Star Entertainment's Comic Earth Star website in August 2016.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the novels and the manga, and it describes the story:

When she turns ten years old, Adele von Ascham is hit with a horrible headache–and memories of her previous life as an eighteen-year-old Japanese girl named Kurihara Misato. That life changed abruptly, however, when Misato died trying to aid a little girl and met god. During that meeting, she made an odd request and asked for average abilities in her next life. But few things–especially wishes–ever go quite as planned.

The light novels inspired an anime that premiered on October 7. Crunchyroll is streaming the series outside Asia in Japanese with English subtitles and with an English dub.

FUNA also launched the Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for my Retirement (Rōgo ni Sonaete Isekai de 8-Man-Mai no Kinka o Tamemasu) light novel series on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in November 2015.

Anime Central previously announced that it will host voice actress Rie Tanaka at next year's event. Anime Central 2020 will take place from May 15-17 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare and Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.
