Voice Actor Johnny Yong Bosch Confirms Role as Broly from Dragon Ball Franchise

Voice actor Johnny Yong Bosch confirmed in various responses to users on Twitter on December 3 that he is voicing the Broly character from the Dragon Ball franchise. While Bosch did not specify in what medium or project he is voicing the character, the character Broly from the Dragon Ball Super: Broly film joined the cast of playable characters in Bandai Namco Entertainment's Dragon Ball FighterZ game as DLC on December 5.

ANN reached out to both Funimation and Bandai Namco Entertainment to confirm if Bosch is playing the role of Broly in the game specifically, and both companies declined to comment.

Vic Mignogna previously voiced incarnations of the character in English dubs as recent as December 2018's Dragon Ball Super: Broly anime film. However, Funimation decided that it will no longer engage Mignogna in light of multiple allegations of sexual harassment.

Regarding the situation, Bosch said on Twitter on December 3 that he "talked briefly" with Mignogna, adding, "Of course he'd rather continue but in light of the situation he's glad it's me. He's a great actor and these are big shoes to fill."
