It bothered me so much when they announced Tri. was to be a 6 part film series instead of a TV series. I thought it was a sign it wasn't living up to the expectations of the people behind its production, etc.

But look at it. It's doing so great. I'm glad its being a success.

Should I be naive enough to wish for a film series about Digimon Tamers in a few years?

When will this be dubbed, since they are no longer doing the Digimon Fusion dub so they should be able to work on Digimon Tri

On the one hand, I'm a little sad that there are so many things out there that deserve the kind of sales this really low-quality technical production TOEI series is getting...
On the other hand, it's not like I've been disappointed by the writing of the films, and Digimon always prevailed, even when it was at its worst, production-wise. Soooo... it's a pleasant surprise and I cannot actually feel upset.

Even though it's a film series, it's still being broken down to episodes, so just think about it as an irregular series that you just get four episodes every few months. And please yes let Tamers get a sequel.

That is only being done by Funimation! In Japan there is no episodes.

Its streaming by Crunchyroll, not Funimation.

I was never a fan of Digimon as a kid, so it's hard for me to get into this. But I'm happy for the fans that are getting a continuation after such a long time. I wonder if these can be watched without having seen much of the first two seasons featuring these kids.

First season is the most important to Tri, but you should have a general idea of what happened in Season 2, at least for now. It's not too unlikely that later movies will involve more season 2 elements, and I wouldn't be extremely surprised for Ryo to appear out of nowhere and reference untranslated Wonderswan games. I doubt it, but you never know.
