I assume this isn't fully in effect until Summer 2016 considering it seems Funimation still manage to get Kumamiko from Kadokawa this season.

You should know already that Funimation dug that hole for themselves with Kadokawa. I actually see this as a good thing because it means that Sentai would be more likely to get the Kadokawa shows each season. Either that or Discotek has a shot at picking up maybe some of the less popular ones from Crunchyroll. Either way, with this and the announcement of their majority stake in Yen Press earlier Kadokawa is obviously making some big moves in the NA market. I'd like to see what becomes of all this. Plus Crunchyroll is usually on top of getting their simulcasts on time, but I agree it's still up to Kadokawa to play nice.

Very interesting, since a lot of Funimation's previously licensed shows seem to have had Kadokawa on the production committee. This seems to be a positive for CR but a big negative for Funi. And this is happening right when Funi is trying to make a big push into streaming.

Then again, Funi has also been collaborating on shows like Space Dandy and Dimension W, so I guess CR could have decided to match them on that.

I am sure these moves are simply a response to larger wallets like Netflix and Amazon Prime moving into the arena. Particularly Amazon Prime, because they are actually simulcasting their exclusives (unlike Netflix).

I think this is great news, because i believe if an anime is good recieved at CR i mean like tons of requests for like a 2nd season etc it would mean that CR could consider it and trow some money into the production then. So even though BD-DVD wouldnt be sold that good at jpn but streamin at CR would be really popular then i believe that gives that anime better chance for some sequels. Specialy since CR is streamin so many anime and we have too often anime that are simply half done and always left us hanging and hopin for another season....

I had a feeling this was going to happen at some point. You could see their relationship getting close together.I think this is a really good thing for the industry.

I don't know how to feel about this. While I think its a positive that CR will co-finance Kadokawa anime titles I'm not as enthusiastic about the other part of the deal namely exclusive digital rights. I guess I'm spoiled and sure exclusive titles were probably coming down the pipe for more of the industry anyways, but I really don't want to subscribe to multiple services to watch exclusive shows. Let's see Amazon, Netflix, CR, etc, etc.

I guess have to see how it all pans out.

Yep, either Bandai, Toho, or Universal Japan.

Does anybody know where to find which upcoming anime series Kadokawa is the production lead for? I really hope it's more consolidated than just "go to every individual anime's official site".

Maybe Crunchyroll will finally update their website and fix their video player and streaming quality.
The current bit rate on 1080p is atrocious and the ps4 app doesn't even go up to 1080p, not that it can consistently hold 720p anyway.
