Yes, thank-you ANN for posting these updates! Less than 10k to go and the project is funded, plus we get to know the voice of our heroine!

Love these casting choices. Who's going to play Kyoko? We are so close to finding out!

I'd they are going to break even. From a business standpoint, them getting at least $160,000 on a $155,000 budget would be nice. This is because with the amount of royalties to be paid, a few $100 being made would be nice.

So they're at $147,626 with 4 days to go. Hope they do make it, Pied Piper does some good work. Raising the funds may have been a bit harder than their Time of EVE release, as they are restricted to the US only.

They added tiers to cater to the international audience:

$200 REMOTE TALENT MANAGER
includes $15 tier, so you get Special thank you message from the Skip Beat! production team, Official Backer Badge download, Weekly behind-the-scenes updates, Name on Skip Beat! Backer Wall, and Wallpaper download, PLUS watch the dub session in action via Skype!
&
$600 REMOTE LOVE ME SECTION
includes $15 tier, so you get Special thank you message from the Skip Beat! production team, Official Backer Badge download, Weekly behind-the-scenes updates, Name on Skip Beat! Backer Wall, and Wallpaper download, PLUS private voice class via Skype with a Skip Beat! voice actor; includes a read-through of a scene where you get to play your favorite character, plus coaching and audio recording of the session.

They are cool for the level of talent of the voice cast or if you want a look behind the scenes at the dubbing process in action.

I believe they'll make it. Just only less than $7,000 left to go...

If they're doing their campaign right, the royalties should be included within the $155,000. Everything in excess of the main goal and stretch goals will be gravy (which, in most cases I've seen, is added into the budget of their following project).

Not directed at you, inasmuch as I find these tiers aimed at the international audience laughable. Most people aren't going to pay $200 to watch something they could easily see uploaded onto another site later. Many of them want the DVDs to watch the dub at their leisure, so charging double the tier that would give you the first set but not any physical rewards, seems crappy IMO.

Dunno if anyone needs it, but I'd be willing to act as a proxy for any international users that want the set and I'll send it to you once received (obviously you'll have to pay for shipping to your home country). I think international fans are getting the short end here, and I don't like it.

No offense taken, but these tiers are really directed at your most ardent fans & taking a private class through Skype seems a little hard to upload on to the Internet for everyone else to enjoy. Wink I hate to say it and I'm against, but if anything is uploaded it won't be these tiers. Sad
I do feel bad for EU but that is not Pied Piper's fault, it's because Japan would not give them the rights internationally. So the proxy thing is awesome, some are already doing it. I believe once it is released a publisher in EU will within a year release it.

Nice to see that they passed the goal, sitting on just over $160k. As for the international tiers, not worth my money if I'm not getting the show too. I'd never back a KS where I can't even get the product they are going to be producing.

And, nothing against Cutiebunny, but I wouldn't give my money to someone I barely know from online forums. I've used other forumites, on other forums, to act as "middlemen" for other purchases, but I had gotten to know them over time.
