I did think it was weird to end the HPA arc and DR3 as a whole with the DR2 cast. Airing them at the same time seems much better than before, imo.

Now the question is: Which one airs first? Guess it doesn't matter if it's simultaneous.

Hoping it's better than the original adaption because the way things are going (with such a massive cast) as well as airing two story arcs simultaneously, it's not looking pretty. Probably a case of biting off much more than they can chew, so to speak.

Oh god, I'm even more confused than ever.
They're certainly not making this easy for casual fans to follow. Well it's a pretty niche audience in the first place so they're likely to try to appeal to the game followers as much as possible.

Something tells me a 2-day gap between airing.

Without the original game casts, they might as well not bother.

If they do bring back the original game casts, how much you wanna bet that JYB will voice the Yu Narukami lookalike?

Can someone interpret the article for me as a non game player who just wants to watch what i stupidly thought was something at least related to the first anime, which i actually enjoyed? I have no idea what is going on or what this means or who i am any more...

It means you have to play the games if you want to watch this.
This is aimed at game players. The first anime was nothing more than an ad for the game

The only voices from the original dub that I liked more than the Funi dub were Leon and Mondo, but it doesn't matter since spoiler[they die pretty early on.] The rest of the original voices sounded like they were part of a fan dub.

I too am a simple farmer. I watched the anime back in 2013 and, above the voices of the whiners who said it was too rushed and a butchered adaption (I will not make the same mistake this time around of being around them), found it super enjoyable and it's still one of my favorites.

This anime will be a continuation of where the second game left off, taking the place of any third game. The first arc will be about the returning characters of the first anime while the second arc will be about characters exclusive only to the second game, which won't get an adaption. I don't know where new characters fit in here. Both of these arcs will air in the span of a week (so like, Tuesdays and Thursdays or something like that).

Any other Danganronpa 2 players catch that spoiler[Ryōta Mitarai, a new character announced for Mirai Hen, has a pudgy version in Zetsubō Hen courtesy of the Ultimate Imposter]? These stories are probably going to me more closely linked than the announcement seems to indicate...

Is Danganronpa 2 on Steam? I'm running out of time to play that.

For any casual fans who are confused, I tried making a simple chart that hopefully explains any questions you might have about this series, its timeline, the intended viewing order, etc.

Also, as per this tweet from Kodaka: https://twitter.com/kazkodaka/status/724863764017860608
Both Future Arc and Despair arc were originally written to be watched simultaneously, with each series complimenting the other as you watch back and forth between the two.
