The only thing that would be of any intrigue is, unless this was part of a sting operation, how did the police get wind of it.
Otherwise, not even surprised that the alleged perp that draws young females in provocative poses might have a thing for teenage girls.

eww I've got no problem with 2d minor girls and any other variation but the moment you try doing it in real life you should get f*ked... err metaphorically speaking.
i suppose he could be a victim if the student lied about her actual age which could be true but if he didn't try to verify her age he probably knew it was illegal.

I don't know if it was a sting operation or not, since Enjo Kosai are still very much a problem in Japan. Most likely police was probably watching, or someone tipped off the police.

She was 17 and that is still considered illegal in Japan? My beat friend is 21 and his girlfriend is 17. I highly highly doubt they haven't done more than holding hands. Complicated matter for the government to to decide what's legal and what shouldn't be but a 17 Years old should have a brain on her own

The age of consent is not related to the age for Solicitation or at least is not always. For example in New Zealand the age of consent is 16 yet you will be arrested and charged for attempting to pay someone under 18 for sex or sex acts.

That's a considerable age because there are still a lot of stupid decisions made by early 20 year olds. Our brains still develop even towards our mid 20s.

If he lives in New York, California or a handful of other states, that's outright illegal. In a few others he's probably covered by "Romeo and Juliet" provisions that permit relationships with minors when the age gap is within a certain range. Outside the US and Muslim world, almost every country sets the age of consent at 17 or lower. Japan's one of the exceptions, but the laws are complicated and vary by prefecture.

Prostitution is about as illegal as jaywalking in Japan. The cops just like to make an example out of someone every now and then just to show they're doing their job.
