I first saw this preview on Monday from a Natsu/Lucy FB group. Lucy is somewhat of a rarity for women in shounen manga in that she's the lead and has been in a lot of battles (50+).

Still waiting for more episodes of FT, any one hear anything coming down the pipe? I assume it's on hiatus for a month or two for the manga to get ahead again, which I'm okay with because most filler is pretty bad.

No news yet, but given how the current arc is faring and how the past few arcs before builds up to the current war arc, I imagine the anime to return sometime next year.

Well the first hiatus was 1year long so wouldnt surprise if they waited 1year now too and start airing the next season then at 2017 spring probably. I kinda surprised though that there is still no news about the movie which was confirmed quite a while ago i wonder whats going on with that *-*

I would also assume a year or so given the last hiatus. Anything less, and they risk having to stop again. I am also a little surprised that we haven't heard anything more about the movie now that the series is on a break. Having something to look forward to might make the wait a little more bearable.

When you say lead...you mean only for females or in general in regards to the FT cast?

Emm not really, we do have episodes here and there that got fanservice and also girls at FT are kinda all really hotties and dressed up already like that so once ya watch 200+ ep you kinda get used to how they dress.
Also OVAs are pretty much always fanservice doesnt just go for FT, there is rarely an anime that makes an ova and isnt a fanservice one, for example sometimes you will see that the anime is quite serious for the 12ep and then they put out an OVA that has a beach/hot spring scene with bunch of fanservice.
And thats how it is fanservice SELLS thats why they make em simple as that and most of us arent complaining about it really^^

I read the manga version of this a while back and found it funny and enjoyable. I'm just curious though, why are these OADs bundled with manga put on a DVD and not a Bluray? I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that it's just a short 1 episode OVA, but high definition is the standard for everything now. Why dumb it down to a media that can only support standard definition video then? It's kinda like I remember Family Guy only being released on DVD at the time, despite the fact that the season sets they were putting out contained episodes that were being produced in high definition and being aired on TV as such. Just doesn't make any sense to me.

Basically, it is a cost thing. As there are instances where it is the manga publisher doing the disc, this would apply (this is from a post that ultimatemegax, who is also a user on ANN, made on reddit)
