No home console release, no buy
I also will buy if they remaster their previous game and release on Steam
But I guess thats impossible now that we seeing HM franchise renamed as Story of Season

I love their HM: A Wonderful Life and HM: Back to Nature

I tend to only like Harvest Moon games that have some sort of ending or goal. Games that go on forever are boring.

If this game has such a ending/goal I'll consider it.

I can feel the months off my life slipping away just by looking at the video.

With HM games that go on forever, I just go for some long term goal. Once achieved, I'm done.

As for HM on Steam or console, I guess older titles are up to Natsume, but I don't know how formal partnerships for old games work. Wasted opportunity.

Most HM fans(including me) didn't like this kind of HM game that primarily depends on story. It is because it will lose some of fun factors like marrying love interest character and having baby. What Harvest Moon always appealing to fans: You can still enjoy the gameplay even after you completed the game storyline.

Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland
Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley

The example of titles that many fans despise

I just don't see the point in playing without a goal. And I don't see how it will lose marrying and having a child if it has a end. Back to Nature let you play after you got to the credits and you marry and have child in that game as well. I don't really understand your point.

Stardew Valley, I think, has ruined a lot of interest in any HM/SoS game. I love the original, and Stardew just takes that formula and revitalizes it. With the addition of developer support, patches and updates, additional features, expanded story, player mods, upcoming multiplayer, and the like... I just can't get excited about a Harvest Moon on my 3DS.

Nintendo came a long way on the latest Smash, providing small tweaks to stats for balance and new characters and stages, but I still feel like they lag behind a lot of other game makers when it comes to improving and expanding their products, either for Free or paid DLC.

I generally had a hard time with any sequel to Harvest Moon, as I adore that game the most, but at this point it's either the SNES HM or Stardew.

Do wish it was mobile based. Might be more interesting if I didn't have to lug another handheld around with me when I could just launch it on my phone.

Cute Hamtaro! Can't wait for this game! Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons has been one of my all time favorite video game series. I know lots of people are enjoying Stardew Valley which is great as more games in the genre the better but after looking into SV I can tell It's not for me. What I love the most about the HM (SoS) is the major emphasis on social interaction and in later games the story. As well as the anime esque artstyle that I love. SDV on the other hand is completely visually unappealing to me and that's a major turn off among other things.

I do hope one day we'll see another console Harvest Moon game as those have been my favorites, Magical Melody I put about 1000 hours in and collected all 100 notes multiple times, absolutely loved it amf Animal Parade was absolutely amazing.

There's the new Harvest Moon made by Natsume planned for PC. Just don't expect a good game.

Also, those games are made by Marvelous, so Nintendo have (almost) no say if they want to make DLC and updates for it.

Hopefully this does get released in English. I've been a huge fan of the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons series, and I loved the last one released. So I'm very anxious to get this one for my 3DS. Although I hope it won't be released just on the new 3DS, as I'm not looking to buy or trade in for one (I have my Pokemon X & Y 3DS and I love it so much).

It would be cool if there would be another console game for HM/SoS, but at the same time I'm not enjoy it as much as I enjoy the ones for the DS and 3DS. I'm currently replaying Magical Melody (which is still my favorite game in the series), but I tried to play Tree of Tranquility for the Wii and I didn't really enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Namely because of the controls; I really didn't like the use of the Wiimote and Nunchuck and it made things a little too clunky for me to use and enjoy (although I recently picked up a classic controller, so I might try to replay it with that).

The goal is so simple, upgrade farm, make profits and interact with people in town/village. I dont think there are more than that. And why you play a farm sim game just for storyline? Its like you playing Tetris and was expecting RPG game storyline.

Back to Nature was not heavily story driven like Save the Homeland or Hero of Leaf Valley which have more than 2 endings and force you start again the game to get another ending. It is between that. Thats why I enjoyed that game. And why do I love A Wonderful Life? Because the Player and NPC slowly interact and growing up and not something like Save the Wonderland did.. Other HM game like HM:DS however no storyline in it but you literally can do 1001 things with that game.

Harvest Moon was made to casual gamers. If you dont like it, I think the spin-off Rune Factory is a game made for you.

Can you kill Hamtaro if you neglect him, like the cow?

Stardew Valley really only works because it's on a platform that never got games like Harvest Moon or Rune Factory. By itself it's a pretty watered-down version of the genre and not worth playing if you have the ability to play the original franchises. That's generally the case with a lot of indie games that are based on genres that have franchises on consoles or handhelds but not PC, like dungeon crawlers or the rise of Motherlikes. They're meant more for people who have never played those kind of games before. RF4 is my current favorite game in the genre.

Oh, for a Rune Factory 5. Or another console either or. Haven't touched my 3DS for months.

Haven't touched Stardew Valley yet. I hear a lot of the hype though. Maybe a PS4 crossplatform in the future?

It's possible! We just got Banner Saga and Neverending Nightmares!
