I've been reading the manga and this is really a charming series. Liked the new version of the key visual as well. I think this could be a series anyone will be able to enjoy when it airs.

The voices fit really well with what I had in my head anyway so that's cool.

Unfortunately, after Usagi Drop I'm pretty suspicious about any shows that involve adult men spending significant amounts of time with young girls these days (especially when that seems to be the only cast revealed so far for this work). I might consider watching after the manga ends and it's confirmed there aren't any squicky relationships.

Dude, main characters are dad-daughter and teacher-student related, i doubt they having squicky relationships. I feel this more like Barakamon + Koufuku Graffiti combination anime.

Again, after Usagi Drop, nothing really seems sacred anymore, and they can always find an excuse down the line to try and make a relationship seem okay. But we'll see, hopefully it turns out to be okay, I'm just hesitant to commit to series with this sort of setup anymore.

Eesh. To be fair, that by itself isn't necessarily enough to ruin the work, depending on how the teacher reacts to it. If there's reciprocation though, that just about finishes it for me (tbh, that he's spending time outside of school cooking with one of his students in the first place is discomfiting enough).

So Cardcaptor Sakura the manga would not make it on your recommended reading list, I presume?...

I guess that depends on what happens in Cardcaptor Sakura (I've never read it, and have only seen parts of the anime). Are there students that have questionable relationships with their teachers, who reciprocate feelings of affection? And is it a major aspect of the story, painted in a fashion that makes it seem acceptable or okay? If so then I would probably put it off the reading list (or at least push it to the very end, depending on how egregious it is).

@Kikaioh

I'll just let this image speak for itself, scanned from my own copy(click link, spoiler tag doesn't work with images...).
Obvious spoilers so view at your own volition; http://i.imgur.com/p4iky0E.jpg

I'd rather not judge something from a single scan, esp. one that's difficult to read. Is this scene meant to be jokey/humorous? That's the vibe I'm getting, though I'd prefer a more direct explanation.

Nope, not a joke. It's played straight. Rika is an important side character throughout the manga.

And that isn't the only such relationship in it;

Well that spoiler is certainly more telling. That said, I'm not sure it's enough for me to outright condemn the work, since those instances sound relegated more to side characters than the primary thrust of the work, though it certainly is unfortunate to hear as at all being a part of the series, and does push it back on my "manga to read someday" list.

Well don't watch it then? From what you've been saying you sound like you've pretty much made up your mind already. Not saying it's a bad thing if you don't like it but there's no reason to continue if you already don't like it.
