New original anime character huh? I think her design looks okay, nothing impressive yet. The new key visual looks nice.

Sounds like you haven't actually seen the show or read the novels. Haru actually grows as a character as the story progresses.

It looks like she's a patient at a hospital...I wonder if that's where she might have first met Kuroyukihime? I imagine she's a Burst Linker as well, so curious to see what her Avatar looks like.

Most people I seen who say haru is the worst MC ever , haven't even try to watch the show, only becasue his fat.
( which is a reason I find dumb )

I have to wonder what these people consider acceptable MCs. I mean Haruyuki is a much better character than Kirito or Tatsuya or a lot of other one sided MCs. He mentioned Yuki from Mirai Nikki so I'm guessing if they aren't just an overpowered bad ass that wrecks everyone all the time, he doesn't like them?

That's a pretty ironic since both were written by same author. I prefer Accel World protagonist over SAO anytime.

I honestly don't mind Kirito much, but he's enough of a non-character at times that some of the best arcs in the novels simply don't involve him.
And while he doesn't necessarily breeze through everything, that's also mostly just other people's power levels catching up to him. He's kind of statically strong. When he comes up with new techniques or abilities he's generally done so off screen and pops it out offhandedly for shock value. At least with Haruyuki you do see him slowly get better. Though his self esteem issues can get a bit overbearing.

the arguments I keep hearing for an acceptable MCs are
1: you have to be very good looking
2: you have to be very skinny
3: you shouldn't be close minded ( this the one that made me laugh  )
