Well, it's finally happening. Just 2 more days and it'll finally be here.

I hope Funimation treats the show right. Funi handling the show is good on one end because if they end up dubbing the show they've got a whole other talent pool to draw from in Texas. But NISA did such a great job with the original and I have my doubts about how Funi are going to handle it.

Still, even if they give it the same apathetic treatment as Shonen Hollywood and its barebones sub only DVD (Not likely considering Love Live actually has a fanbase but there's a chance) I can rest easy knowing that Madman will do the right thing for Australia.

I have this feeling the soundtrack of the show is going to make the vast majority if not all of the rest of the upcoming anime season look amateurish in comparison. Not that I plan on watching much of it for comparison.

Hoping a UK license is announced in time for an episode 1 simulcast. I want to support the show but I can't wait any longer.

I'm really disappointed with how similar the plot looks to the original. No saving the school, but we have a super enthusiastic main character that wants to start an idol club pestering random girls to join. We also have a super strict student council president that's opposed to the club existing. The only things that are really new here are Yohane, the transfer student, and the ojou.

That does concern me a little too. Still there does need to be at least some conflict and as long as the reasons why the student council chick is against it is sound AND different then I'd be fine with it.

You have to admit though that most school student council's wouldn't be too happy to have their school represented by girls dressing in skimpy idol outfits.

Music is always the greatest strength of Love Live! in my opinion. Not just the insert songs, but also the incidental and the background musics. Even back then on the original, those were already standing out on its own so I certainly hope that LLSS will follow the pattern.

Actually, their school is also already been determined to be shut down, which further makes the plot a lot more similar. Although it is unclear whether the idol group is formed to save the school like the original, it is implied that it was so, too.

Indeed, there is quite a lot of plot recycling here in the new series. But with this kind of set of characters, I doubt it will feel the same at all.

Madman gave Love Live a AWFUL rating. Mature, Just Why?

If you're referring to the M rating on the physical release that's not put by Madman. It's done by the ratings agency.

Here's a description of what the M rating means. As you can see it just means that the show is more suitable for older audiences, which is fine for Love Live.

Quote:
While an M classification means the film is unrestricted - anyone can see it - it is more suitable for older viewers. This is different to the red labels which are legal restrictions and the film cannot legally be shown to anyone under the age on the label.

The M classification means the movie might contain violence, offensive language, drug use, sexual or adult themes or nudity that some kids and parents find challenging.

A lot of blockbusters based on books popular with the 10+ age group are classified M, including most of the Harry Potter movies, The Hobbit trilogy and The Hunger Games. It can be a hard call for a parent, older sibling or other adult to decide what is appropriate.
