It's ridiculous that they're taking this long. This set is coming out over a YEAR after R part 2. Did they give any explanation for the delay? What happened to the promise of 3 to 4 sets per year? They announced the dub cast exactly 1 year ago, and now we have to wait another four months. At this rate we won't get Stars until 2020.

One of the biggest problems with the Viz sets was that they butchered the video quality for both the first season and R due to their terrible upscaling and poor presentation (heck even the DVD version was affected for Season 1; Part 1 was so bad they dubbed it as a 'Collector's item'). I remember reading a tweet from them saying they've "taken feedback" hence why S is taking so long. So I hope that they got better materials to work on or they putting more effort on their upscales. But hey it's Subatonic Digital (Viz's chosen authoring group for these sets) so it's going to not look that great regardless. On a plus side, their artboxes/packaging is very nice. |

Of course they will not give explanations. Viz's policy with classic Sailor Moon has been "we don't give a f.uck about what you think of or shitty video quality and our release schedule because at the end of the day enough suckers will buy our defective products, and we will make a ton of money". |

Yes. It goes like this: Original Sailor Moon Sailor Moon R Sailor Moon S Sailor Moon SuperS Sailor Moon Stars That's for the 1990's version of the show. Sailor Moon Crystal is a modern retelling of the whole thing, starting from the beginning. |

And S is hands down the best of the four old-sequel series, as SuperS and Stars went a bit downhill, so if you have to watch the Classic series at its greatest point... |

thats neat so would i be better off watching Sailor Moon Crystal or going back to the original, i keep hearing the latter is better than the former |

What are the chances of them releasing corrected versions of the show? I want sailor moon but I don't want Viz's butchered version |

i only watch Anime dub, so is Viz Media Sailor Moon where i heard they kept changing around the Voice Actors or is that another version |

The Old dub(Mainly DiC and Cloverway) changed VAs alot. But Viz is committed to keep the same VAs across the board. For the voices, Uranus is just spot on! Neptune and Tomoe are ones that'll take some used to. Tomoe has a different take from the old voice but still the same kind of crazy. Neptune sounds a bit more generic to me overall, but sometimes sounded unique. So will have to hear more of her. |
