So it looks like it is ignoring the ending of the 2011/12 anime. I'm not sure if it is confirmed but if it is, that's good.

They'd have to at this point. Yukio's spoiler[demon powers] are still developing in the manga, and we know nothing about he and Rin's mother. |

^ was looking into that too, but based on the teaser, Yukio's ears aren't pointed, so it looks like they are ignoring the original ending of the 2011/2012 series.
Really hoping they keep as close to the original manga as possible with this project, it's what everyone wants at the end of the day for the most part. Wonder if they'll be able to get UVERworld too to reprise as an artist for either the opening or ending themes, although I wouldn't be surprised if Sawano Hiroyuki got one of them too with his (still soaring) popularity. |

What a great time to be a fan of some of these shonen series.
Between D.Gray-Man Hallow this season, a majorly surprising continuation, to Attack on Titan S2 and now this, I'm so happy that we're not just getting a bunch of reboots (despite the length of time between seasons). I'm really looking forward to this and cannot wait to fully jump back on the anime hype train for Blue Exorcist over the next year! |

Let's hope the OST is as great as the first season was.
 I can't wait! I hope we get to see Rin have some happy endings with Shiemi or at least SOMEONE.

While the PV contained mostly old footage from the first season and movie (and little, green/light blonde imp-like baby, for example), it was still enough to trigger that nostalgia sense.
One slight worry I have, though, is how the music is going to turn out. Recently, Sawano Hiroyuki's greatest hindrance is Sawano Hiroyuki. With the same style being used for nearly every one of his projects, what was "cool, awe-inspiring, impressive, epic" and so on in 2011-2013 turned into "this again?", "it's a bit too similar", "didn't I hear that track in other show?" and the like. You can make the meanest, most badass Pop-Tart ever, but if that's all you serve time and time again, the effect will wear out. |
