Can't help but think it was more than they expected.

Looking at their previously-aired shows, this probably would've been the most explicit thing they'd ever aired, with Maken-Ki! in second place.

Shame they chickened out...or not? Haven't heard the greatest reception for this based off the first episode...

The TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting entry in ANN encyclopedia says they broadcasted both seasons of Maken-Ki! They can't be serious, I do not think this first episode had more fanservice than said series.

Maken-Ki! put me to sleep (this is no joke), I honestly tried to see (both seasons of) it, to no avail; while HxH did managed to entertain me.

There's a difference, Maken-Ki! isn't centred around molesting people. Characters do get molested but it's never either seasons' main selling point.

I'm thinking it's due to the tits and censorship guidelines of nowadays. It's not that hard to tell that some stations refuse to air this mess anymore.

Do you really think they care about it? Its a anime we are talking about, not a western cartoon. They wouldn't care less even if was a tentacles, bugs or almost rape.

The question is that this show probably are going to be more lewd and explicit than any anime they transmitted before.
If even half of the content of the LN is animated we will have something that is very near Hentai.

They are not guidelines, it is a LAW that affects Tokyo and the end result is the increased censorship we have seen recently. Said law does not affect Kyushu beyond said censorship.

It's amazing how far we've come in the past ten years. In fact, the most explicit show that was airing in summer 2006 was Air Gear, which dared to bare nipples in a few bathing scenes.

That's a shame, bit odd as surely they knew what the content was going to be like when the signed up to air it in the first place.

For one you should never judge a series on the first episode, second the only negative reception I've seen to this are from those who have a disdain for fan service in general, presuming ANNs 'Preview' Guide is the same since most at ANN seem to have that view as well from what I've seen over the years. Could be wrong though.

Just notice that this is not the first time this station pulled out this stunt.

The same happened before with "R-15" animenewsnetwork.com/news/2011-07-07/2-stations-remove-r-15-from-schedules-before-premiere

There is some pattern here.

I think this show might've gone over TVQ's threshold for ecchi content, with the censorship.

ANN is indeed very biased towards ecchi sertes, and its also being a western site, it is not a good place to gauge what the reaction to it is.

Just wait till the NND ratings, or lurk 2ch or something.
Although I think ep.1 was already up on NND, only censored.

TVQ Kyushu is just one channel. It's broadcasted on 8 other channels, said in the article (below).

The anime premiered on Tuesday on AT-X, and is also airing on Tokyo MX, TV Saitama, Chiba TV, tvk, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and BS11.

LOL they probably realized they can do better than this or it was to much ecchi for them to process but if you ask me it looks like your generic action harem and it took all its aspects from The Testament of Sister New Devil and Infinite Stratos. I swear i dont see how these horny teens watch this crap(Pretty sure most do it For Academic Purposes Anime hyper)
