Over the years,"Heidi" has been done in a number of ways, including animation. I remember that Hanna-Barbera did a version of this a long time ago. They had Lorne Greene playing the grandfather and he did a good job on it. But,I also remember a scene in which they put in a talking rat played by Sammy Davis,Jr. I doubt very highly that this version will have the talking rat. And since Lorne Greene passed away,it's highly unlikely he's going to appear in an English dubbed version of this short. They may have to get someone who sounds older to play the grandfather on this one.

While on one hand this will no doubt tarnish my precious memories with the original series, words cannot express my excitement for this. More Clara's always good to me.

In the book, our heroine lives in Maienfeld (east Switzerland). Her dog is a Saint Bernard, which was developed at the Great St Bernard Hospice in Valais (about 109.9 miles away). For those going to the hospice, Italy is less then a mile south from there.
