To be honest, I take issue with this particular art because it is selling lies. I don't understand why the Crystal publicity team are hyping HarukaxMichiru so much when the couple does not get any bleeping development in the actual show. It isn't even implied that they might be romantically involved apart from one scene in early episodes. There's more HarukaxMichiru in promotional material than there is in the actual show. I feel bad for people who loved that pairing in the 90s anime and will buy Crystal because of all the queerbaiting in the merch only to find that beloved pairing isn't actually portrayed at all.

Most likely yes since Viz & Kaze Europe are using the Japanese covers, disc & menu art* for their releases of seasons 1 & 2. * - Not confirmed with the Viz set yet to be released but Kaze's release in Germany and France has some of the Japanese menus. |

Pardon? The animation in season 3 was actually quite good overall. I mean, it wasn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination (it is a Toei show, after all) but it was certainly nowhere near the constant stream of off-model and lazy animation that was seasons 1 and 2. In fact I'd say that for the most part the show was rather pretty to look at. I mean I can still say a lot of things against Crystal's third season (though compared to what came before it it was freaking Citizen Kane), but the production values were, to me, more than acceptable. |

I can't help but giggle at the comments on this cover. I'm wondering if Viz will be doing another SM panel, THAT YOU CAN BARELY GET INTO!! Last years was pretty intense. There were two Viz panels one for the regular announcements and SM. And one on SM. But the SM one was the pretty capped. The regular Viz panel folks only stayed to hear about the SM DVD release and then ran out. And yes, SM Chihuahua's. Yes, someone brought their's dressed as one of the other scouts that from the "S" series. Or maybe it was Uranus. It was wearing aqua blue.

Yeah, kinda' with CrowLia on this one.
My more cynical side sees that boxart as lipservice--hell, Haruka and Usagi have more romantic interactions in this season than Haruka and Michiru!--but my nostalgic side is just happy to see nice art of them. I honestly can't tell if this is a slap in the face or an actual attempt at compromise by giving fans stuff that isn't present in the show itself. :/ |

There is literally not a single episode without multiple key frames that are horribly distorted and that's not even touching the animation. You can be a fan and still not have your head shoved up Toei's ass. It was an improvement over the first season, but still by far the lowest quality production of the entire anime season for 2016 thus far.

Something about Neptune/Michiru looks off or generic. It's not that her hair is longer, but it looks like a giant bulb instead of wavy. Still a relatively pretty cover. I think they could have improved the angle and pose though.
Can't wait for SuperS to come and for us to get S3 and 4 on DVD~! ♥ |
