Twisted Evil Arrogance or ignorance, this is just hilarious either way. We all know Nintendo needed this win given how hard they were trying to compete with PS and Xbox. They could at least acknowledge they're silently celebrating on the inside (and internally).

It's neither.

It's Nintendo saying, "hey, whoa there folks! We didn't, and don't, have much to with Pokemon Go, so please lower your expectations." Basically, they're being honest to their shareholders about the actual value of the shares, and acting responsibility about it. Nintendo makes a whole lot of questionable business decisions, but this is one that won't come back to bite them.

The success of Pokémon GO has been so massive, it has made Nintendo now worth more than Sony.

Yup. If they can win something for real out of this if only it can promote Sun & Moon. In other way, the app is not really their credit. It's the company who made it. It was just a partnership which they commissioned to make the work for them. So no surprise they aren't earning much.

Didn't you read the post? Nintendo has so many partners sharing the earnings that they aren't getting much. It's almost like basically the only thing they are getting from this are the copyrights. Nothing else.
Take in mind they didn't even make the app. That's very important.
The company who made the app IS THE ONE who's getting the most greeny. They ARE THE ONES raising to the top. That's the double edge of partnering. They get more possibilities but also the double of the costs, the double of shares and just a small percentage.
So nope, they aren't really much richer now. They just said that.
Better way to help them? Get Sun & Moon.

Niantic are the ones getting all the cash.

But this app is insanely good for Nintendo. It promotes and revives Pokémon it's biggest flag ship.

Also the app is amazing. People all around the world are experiencing what they were dreaming of as kids. They can catch Pokémon.

If one childhood dream come true, then it's Pokémon go

Not really true. Niantic was a small unknown company that did not have the cash to make something like this. Thus Google, Nintendo, and The Pokémon Company all invested money in the company and essentially own "stock" (although Niantic is still a private company and not available to normal investors in the stock market).

Or maybe playing it safe because you know how popular things come and go and until it stabilize, I don't blame them for not changing their forecast

Road the train from Sobudai-mae to Akihabara and back today. Many of the young people were playing the game continuously on the train. Not to mention playing in the streets of Akihabara.

Well there's definitely no denying the popularity of Pokémon Go right now hell I don't even think that the programmers ever thought that it would be this popular so the only question now is how long will this popularity last. Confused

Nintendo's explosion thanks to Go is an excellent example of why short-term stock market movements are crap: people get excited and make trades without doing their research. Their stock price will begin to fall once people realize this isn't a significant revenue stream.

Half of the people playing the game were the types of people who made fun of adults playing Pokemon on handhelds, but now that it's on the phones it's suddenly cool and hip. Lack of research is a given

Yeah, I'm curious if we'll get a followup on how Nintendo stock in the Japanese exchange has dropped nearly 10,000 yen per share in the past 2 market days.
