It already had its climax plot wise. All that's left is the "Where are they now" segments.
While I have some issues with the resolution (spoiler["Hey kids, run away from your problems and you'll get what you want in the end!"]) it does severe as a better example of how to have to the 'expected' outcome without ruining what came before it. |

Here are the main bullet points: spoiler[- Raku realizes he's in love with both Kosaki and Chitoge. - Chitoge overhears Kosaki confessing her feelings to Raku (who was knocked out) - Chitoge overhears Raku talking to Shu about how he's liked Kosaki since middle school. Chitoge leaves before he mentions how he likes Chitoge too. - Heartbroken, Chitoge drops out of school and runs away to America and works with her mom. - Raku decides on who he loves more when Shu asks him who comes to mind when he thinks of who he wants to first tell inane things to (found a new ramen shop, got a good deal at a store, etc) - Raku and Kosaki chase after Chitoge, but she runs away from them. - Eventually they all go back to the place they met as kids where they remember the past and it's confirmed Kosaki is the promised girl. - Kosaki confesses to Raku, knowing full well that Chitoge is his #1 now and accepts her rejection like a champ. - Raku runs after Chitoge, who, after getting chewed out by Marika, confesses to him and he reciprocates. - Chitoge got a job offer while working with her mom and Raku encourages her to go for it and that he'll wait for her. Jump to several years later...] Also spoiler[Ruri confesses to Shu, who is actually really surprised by it. Ruri asks that he considers her whenever he gets over Kyouko.] As to why this works better than some other examples I can name... spoiler[Raku actually spent several chapters struggling with like two girls at once. He didn't completely forget about his feelings for Kosaki just because he realized he liked Chitoge. Even after deciding on Chitoge, when Kosaki confesses to him he's actually crying. It does make him a bit hesitant because his feelings for Kosaki are still genuine and mean a lot to him. The only real sticking point for me is that Chitoge ran away and refused to confront her problems, even clinging to the past in the hopes that if she was the promised girl she had a chance. When she finds out she isn't she pretty much gives up yet in the end this bad behavior gets rewarded. to add one hilarious side bullet point: spoiler[Tsugumi beats Claude's ass thanks to some inspiration from Honda, and it turns out Claude never realized that Tsugumi is a girl even with the giant adorable bow on her head and that he wanted her to marry a gorillla. Tsugumi then procedes to rip open her chest because it's PLOT time. ] |

I am actually surprised the main character actually chose a single person. Usually these harem mangas the main character can't make a choice so he decides to be with everyone and all the girls are too spineless to kick the idiot to the curb and they are all just cool with it.
