Wow. That was unexpected. To go get a check up and find out you need a new heart is crazy. I'm happy that Jun is staying positive and wish him the best(assuming he has a donor already) so that he may recover and continue to do what he loves.

What a twist of fate for this to happen to great storyteller like him. I hope everything turns out for the best. Hopefully someone can play the role of Otonashi Yuzuru for him as well...

What dispiriting news. If I may say so, I encourage people not to use this news as the basis for a joke.

Average life expectancy for adults after a heart transplant is ten years. Most die from rejection (the immune system not accepting the foreign organ), so even if he lives an ideal healthy life it won't make any difference.
Whether he gets a donor heart or not, Jun Maeda's life has been cut terribly short. For someone who's given so much to mankind, it seems unjust that God gave him so little in return. Jun Maeda is my idol and my hero, this news hits me pretty hard.

God doesn't reward kind people and God sure won't heal him either. Only doctors can help and hopefully it will work out.

That really sucks. At least he's positive. Or seems to be.

As someone who has a close family member on a transplant list, this is a horrible thing to have to go through. Best of luck to him, and I hope he's able to keep that positive attitude. Please, everyone out there, if you haven't already done so, sign up to be an organ donor. Far too many people die every year waiting for a transplant, and while your number will hopefully never be called, it's literally the last best gift you can give to someone else before you go.

That's just awful! I wish Mr. Maeda all the best and I hope he pulls through. It's a sad thing to go through, though.

Amazing post. Everyone must read this.
I personally signed up to be a donor after a friend of mine received a heart transplant. I felt it was my duty as a human being.
Maeda-san, I will keep you in my thoughts.
