For anyone wondering why Crabrawler is only pure Fighting-type and not Water or part-Water, its design is based on a coconut crab.

Ummm...no?

Plus, it makes sense, considering that Alola is a tropical region based on the beachy parts of Hawaii.

Stufful has my favorite small detail of any Pokemon.

It has a tag! You know those tags that stuffed animals have (you know the small ones that are sown in). It seems like you can only see it at certain angles but still, that is clever and I applaud them for that little detail.

Hey now, what makes a sandcastle inferior to a puddle of slime or a rock with arms? Laughing

I also noticed the tag! Really awesome detail Smile

With enough HP and defensive EV investment, Sandygast and Palossand's Ability Water Compact can be a hassle for Water-type Pokémon.

I really have to wonder what goes on in the mind of someone who sees a Pokemon made from an object and can do nothing but think "They've run out of ideas".

Especially since Gen 1 had a least four pokemon that were based off of inanimate objects.

Although, in a way I understand how someone might get tired of the "ghost haunting an object" concept, that has been done many times before in this series.

Still... There are plenty of other examples of different Pokemon that follow along their own similar concept that not many people complain about.

Personally, there are some ghost haunting an object Pokemon I'd love to see! Like maybe one haunting a somewhat obscure wacky musical instrument like the serpent. That'd be so much fun.

These new Pokemon are great and all, but I needs to see the starter's evolved forms! I'm so impatient!

Never even thought of that. But it can still join the ranks of Pokémon like Stunfisk, Dragalge, and Malamar of Pokémon that people will assume will be Water-type but aren't.

Yeah, I noticed that, and I found it hilarious it's there.

Well, you probably want to evolve Sandygast before putting it in any serious head-to-head battle. Or you could give it Eviolite, which probably WOULD assist Water Compaction a lot. It all comes down to Palossand's natural stats though. It looks to be a big and bulky Pokémon, but you can never really tell. Skarmory looks fast and nimble but is a bulky wall kind of Pokémon, while Jynx doesn't seem that light on her feet but she has glass cannon stats.

According to the official descriptions, they did it themselves:

"Palossand disguises itself as a sandcastle, with its shovel on top serving, it is believed, as a radar to search out prey. Unsuspecting small Pokémon are dragged into Palossand’s body through its sandy vortex so it can steal their life force."

Something Pokémon fans have been waiting for a long time is a haunted suit of armor. That's something you commonly see spirits possessing in fiction that Pokémon hasn't done yet. The closest you have is the Honedge line.

Every person I've seen telling me they're running out of ideas is someone who wants Pokémon to stop having new generations, or just plain stop. Whenever I tell them that if anything, Game Freak is accelerating ideas in that modern Pokémon all incorporate multiple concepts into one Pokémon, they don't want to hear any more of it and deem me a genius for being able to keep up.

(My favorite examples are Aromatisse, based simultaneously on a flamingo, a can-can dancer, a perfume bottle, and a plague doctor; and now Wishiwashi, based on a sardine, those schooling fish meant to look like a larger fish, a combining mecha, and a submarine.)

I wonder if Crabrawler's pincers would be able to grow back if they're snapped off. It's been said that they taste quite good. Smile

Most water type attacks are special so I don't see it making a difference. Might combo OK with Water Shuriken in doubles though. It would be amazing if it also meant it didn't have to take any damage. An electric, normal, fighting and water immune pokemon would be neat.
