Considering the ads even say "94% of attendees at the preview screenings were completely satisfied" I'm pretty confident you'd say "they didn't mess it up."

It's strange. I keep hearing reviews (no spoilers) that say the romance is the main point of the movie, but is also the worst part of the movie because it's very VERY cliche. And, yet, they still say the movie was very good.

I'm gonna have to reread the manga 'cause I don't remember any romance. Like there was the tension, but it wasn't in your face slapping you into attention. Even so, I'm near to tears watching those videos. I know I'll be a sobbing mess reading the manga again.

so I keep hearing from people the fat character in this movie is treat like shit by the other characters ? even tho he was bullied himself ? if that the case this movie hypocritical.

It's there, it's just extremely subtle since it's not the main point of the story. The most obvious clue that the main characters have developed feelings for each other is when they met on the bridge immediately after Shoya wakes up from his coma.

Only 94%? tsk tsk. I wonder what kind of people that other 6% were.
I also find the idea of an advertisement for a movie using something like that to be pretty amusing.

I wonder if it will better than 'Your Name'... These are the two films I really wanted to see this year. I already saw Your Name, and I can't wait to see this one.

People treating each other like shit was a central theme to the story, though... and how people grow out of that (or not) or shrug it off (or not) is a lot of the character dynamic as the story progresses.
Nagatsu was an interesting side character. At first I thought he was annoying but as I read, I realized how important he was to the narrative.
