Oh good. I was concerned this wasn't going to have a bloated, overstuffed cast of characters who will go completely undeveloped and completely contradict established continuity for the sake of wanking the novels.
Phew. It's a good thing it will. Now I don't have to worry about the core cast developing at all or having a word in edgewise. I'm not satisfied unless Ryoko and Ayeka are completely sidelined to a few lines an episode so we can get the same Mary Sue Noike worship we had in the third OVA. Thank you, Kajishima.

At least he could be of service to you, as well as service for everyone else.

So far, I like Ryoko's new outfit coloring at least.

Alright I can't wait. Hopefully its more similar to the first 2 OVAs as OVA 3 was a huge letdown IMO.

Tenchi Muyo is the Arrow of anime. First two were great, new show runners, and then it all goes to hell.

I appreciate that they're at least trying to approximate the original art style, even if they're failing miserably at it. Seriously though, it looks like all the characters got injected with a sedative, the energy's just not there.

Hmm... I wonder why Washu has red hair in the key visual, but her usual pink in the character design.

I am honestly shocked that someone thinks there's enough market for this after OVA3.

The lore of TM is incredibly fascinating and interesting. Problem is the last set of OVAs were meh so I'm hoping this next set will be as good as the original OVAs.

I, for one, am glad that the character designs are more like the original series than the previous recent reboot attempts. I hope the OVA delivers a good story. =)

Tenchi Muyo was one of the first anime I ever spent money on. Many other anime have come and gone in my life but this still holds a special place in my heart even if OVA3 left something to be desired.

I'm looking forward to this . The longer a series runs though the harder it is to maintain things ..But i will say i go back and watch all the Techi universe stuff every year or so and it never ceases to make me feel warm , contented and I laugh like crazy . There is a magic in them that is just so......MAGIC ! So many series these days get squished into a single cour to AMP -UP intensity ...and we all get jipped out of character development ....serious mistake .
But evolution never stops , and there is serious competition out there in the anime production world ..and the owners have the say of what ,when and where and they try to do their best to survive... and eat hopefully . I wonder if this will be combined in larger BLU-RAY sets ... and be a precursor to all the rest of the Tenchi stuff coming out on BLU here in the USA

We unfortunately didn't report on it. While writing this story I checked into why Sugita wasn't returning to the role, and her wikipedia page stated she passed away in 2009 and links to a 2010 Twitter post by manga creator Miki Tori, who wrote about her obituary. Aside from that there seems to be very little news if any written about her death.

Character designs look great! Perhaps it's really about time I got around to watching Tenchi Muyō (the TV show)...
