Still honestly less than impressed with the way this game has been (over?)handled and think it's been an absolute mess of delays and confusing yet aggressive advertising and like someone is trying to jerk me around and pump me full of hype but that was at least one of the more polished trailers. When this game focuses purely on storyline stuff the trailers come across fine, when it features gameplay it just looks woefully inadequate somehow and like the project has no idea where it's going or what it's doing other than warp slashing and driving a car around on rails.

Guess we'll see if it finally and actually makes it out in November but just.....never felt so lacking in anticipation for an upcoming console FF as this one that's been through too many revisions and is relying on too many bells and whistles and distraction side projects to take much away from. I guess years of excessive build up, bloat and advertising mean nothing to me if I'm not convinced of a decent game at the end of it all like I am with Persona 5.

i'm guessing you haven't seen the overwhelming praise coming from 90% of the publications that have played the first four hours of the game. All of your assumptions have no basis and are have even been debunked by Tabata already. The reason there is suppemental material is to reward the fans for having to wait so long for the title. And all of these side projects aren't central to understanding the game or its lore. It just gives you a more comprehensive look at the world.

A lot better than releasing it early and underdeveloped, glad they're taking their time to polish it like Blizzard and nintendo games.
