I'll probably check this out tomorrow, but is anyone else concerned that the studios' names are oddly close to puke and mediocre? Not a great sign and nor is the fact that I have not heard of the director's prior works but we'll see. I just want to see them turn monsters into cute girls. Have they crossed off all the entries in the list of things that have not been turned into cute girls yet?

I think this is a sign that the "_____ as cute girls" trend is running out of ideas.

boy, this would be awkward if we see Ultraman brutally beat them up in a gory fashion & vaporize them with his Spacium beam to their deaths.

^Hey if you do it right it could work. I don't dislike dark humor. I don't know that the director's resume suggests they could make that work but we'll see.

That's like saying the trope where the protagonist is pulled from the real world and into a fantasy world is running out of ideas eventhough you know they're going to keep making new stories that use it

Not really, the Kaiju Girls concept has been a thing for a while now since at least when Pacific Rim came out back in 2013. There was a lot of fan art of the kaiju as cute anime girls.

I'm still holding out for the US Civil War.

That would be amazing. It may lead some awkward (or amusing) contrasts between the cuteness of the girls and one side's beliefs on slavery. They'd probably avoid the subject but still.
