Wait. The guy who wrote My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU is handling the writing duties for Girlish Number? I'm even more stoked for this show than I was before.

Loved the first episode. Such fun to see more than just stereotypical pleasantries being exchanged among seiyuu and other members of the industry. Really hope that it continues in the same vein as Chitose delves deeper into the industry. Glad that Crunchyroll is streaming it as it may have fell by the wayside otherwise.

Oh hey! And here I was wishing that CR had nabbed this earlier. Having seen the first episode, I can't help but feel like this is a kind of spiritual successor to Shirobako, in that we're getting a glimpse at how those three numbskulls at the seiyuu meeting handle their day-to-day stuff. Should be interesting!

What I gathered from online comments about the show is that it is the post-Shirobako equivalent to Magical Girl shows made post-Madoka; it doesn't spare in providing cynical jabs against the medium and its structure/fandom, and how the glamour is an illusion. With the writer being the same one who created OreGairu, it seems possible. And as an added bonus, character design be QP:flapper Smile

The thing that actually made this show very fun to watch for me was the variety of Chitose's facial expressions.

Looking at the regions, this is probably a sublicense from Sentai. They usually get English speaking territories and Latin America, so it's not really CR's fault.

Not that any of that stops us from watching it though... (from Finland as well)
