My first though was "Lois and Clark: The new Adventures of Superman" but holy crap "The greatest American hero" was so long ago for me I can barely remember it.

From what I've been hearing,this show could be a combination of "Lois and Clark:The New Adventures of Superman" and "The Greatest American Hero." I don't know if either of those shows ended up in Japan,but if they did,they might have had an influence on this one. It's certainly a possibly that this happened.
