You may not like it but it makes sense. Iron Man is now arguably Marvel's biggest character with only Spider-Man possibly still holding the top spot. Wolverine is probably number 3 now of most popular Marvel characters followed by Hulk and then Captain America in today's collective culture. The reason Captain Marvel is the other Marvel character is probably Marvel is pushing her with the Captain Marvel movie coming out and with her being the co-lead character in Marvel's latest event comics. Plus they changed her hairstyle to look more like Brie Larson the actress who is playing Captain Marvel.

Not unlike why Guardians of the Galaxy had a noticab!e role in the Disk Wars anime.
I'm just glad they're using the real Ms. Marvel. Hopefullly she'll have alternate costumes from her different eras. MvC3 was pretty good at that.

The reason why Wolverine and other X-Men characters are not there because this game won't feature any of these characters, it's all MCU characters. Basically Marvel doesn't want to promote Fox movies and since they were in a feud, after the release of "Marvel: Contest of Champions" no x-men and other related characters are currently featured in games.

but he's most likely going to be in the game regardless, the character is so popular that the movies made him into the main character (even though Cyclops is supposed to be the damn leader of the team but the X-men movies became a giant mess anyway) but I'm glade we're getting Megaman X in the game, it made no sense that 3 had Zero and Tron Bone but none of the actual Megamans were playable characters.

There is nothing definitive about that article and it sounds more like pure speculation by the articles author then any actual proof that there will be no x-men characters. Marvel is still releasing X-men comics and are releasing 7 new X-men titles in spring next year after this X-men/Inhumans event ends.

While yes we probably won't see a new X-men character in the future they still haven't completely abandoned the characters. In fact Marvel and Fox might be reaching a better working relationship since we are getting X-men character television shows Legion and an unnamed X-men show in the future. Fox owns the movie rights to the characters but nothing else while Marvel can't produce any shows with those characters due to the movie rights belonging to Fox so the only way for these shows to be made is a compromise of some kind. We have yet to hear what Fox has given up in order to get the ability to make t.v. shows with these characters. I am hoping Fox while doubling down on their successful X-men franchise have finally decided to cut ties with the FF, which they continuously fail to do anything with, and given them back to Marvel. I am hoping that when Marvel announces their Phase 4 movies the FF will be the headliners.

Except I wouldn't put it past Disney to force CAPCOM to leave X-Men out as a "screw you" to Fox. It's why after the recent reboot in the comics why the X-Men have taken on a weird role in the Marvel universe

Disliked both iterations of MvC3's gameplay, so I'm not really going to get hyped until I see how it plays. Though, it seems they'll be using gems like in MSH, which'll be interesting.

The "real" Miss Marvel would be Kamala given that Carol is now "Captain Marvel" but of course you already knew that.

Disney hasn't really asserted their will on Marvel's properties where the comic books, the games, and the movies are concerned since they bought them.
