Someone pinch me because I must be dreaming. The cards aren't censored. If only the other yugioh shows could do it.

Well.... they used the censored art for Raise Dead instead of the original JP one.

Coulda sworn they called Atem "Yami" in the dub but here they say Atem.

I believe they called him Yami until the last season where they discover his name, and after that they called him Atem. Although even calling him Yami wasn't very often because I remember them calling both of them Yugi, even during the time when they were split.

They did the same thing for the last movie in theaters. The only reason it's "censored" is to avoid being classified as a "commercial" instead of a TV series.

Scale of 1-10 how petty am I for not going to see this because I didn't win the voice acting role I auditioned for at NYCC?

The nostalgia hit me hard with these previews. I'm definitely seeing this for that alone, but I'm also happily surprised at how well this has been animated.

@Aura Ichadora: You're correct. They called him Yami or Yugi until they fought out his original name. Why my brain held on to that bit of trivia yet routinely forgets basic math, I'll never know lol Rolling Eyes

I'm pleasantly surprised by all of the background silence in these clips. 4K Media is known for their wall-to-wall scoring approach, so it's a nice change of pace from what Arc-V's dub has been stuck with.

It's nostalgic hearing the dub VAs again, and the scripting isn't seeming too bad either so far. Of course, I'll save my final judgment for when I actually see the movie.

Actually, they only called him Yami during the first half of the dub. Later on they settled on calling him "The Pharaoh" until the finally learned about his name, "Atem".

Background silence in these clips...That's surprisingly good, considering 4K Media's bad habit of flooding silent scenes with their in-house music. Plus, the scripting sounds seemingly great, so now I'm a bit more hopeful for DSoD's end result. Smile

I'm glad Dan Stuart will reprise his role as Kaiba. I can't wait to watch the movie!

You broke the scale.

Lmao in tears about the response and about losing the casting role Crying or Very sad

No but seriously, I might end up skipping this. I'm attending opening day for One Piece: Film Gold this week and just bought my tickets for opening day of Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale in March. Not sure my pockets can take another hit considering I have to travel about two hours to support all these releases in theaters. So unfortunately, something has to give.

(Although, I can't say me not winning a role, getting to hear my voice on the big screen, and creating a imdb page didn't play a huge part in this decision Wink )

Which is ironic not only because that's part of what it was designed for but it also didn't work if this is true, Since people have gotten into the card game because of the anime.
