I became a fan around the midpoint from then and now (~2011/2012) but I still feel like a LOT has happened for vocaloid in those few years, so I'm excited for what's in store for us in the future!

Our Vocaloid princess is going to be 10 years old T-T
I remember when youtube only had 'Ievan polkka'
'My time' and 'Miku Miku ni shite yanyo'. and then kept
growing. I think Miku has over 50k songs by now.

Yeah, but not for the same reason. I remember watching the B/W Gigantor [Tetsujin 28] as a kid. That makes me feel old. Wink

Went to see Miku-chan and friends in NYC last year. No word about a 2017 tour as of yet, N.A. or no (except for one February show in London). You'd think for the 10th anniversary they would have more venues planned. Confused

Not me, I didn't get on the Miku craze until the PS3 game in the US which wasn't until....what, '10?
Yeah, by the time I got hooked, most of Japan had moved on. Sad

I didn't even know what "Vocaloids" were, I just thought they were the Love Live-style android characters the licensor had created...
Until I started to wonder why Meiko or Luka sounded a little "fuzzy" on some of the higher notes.

I am, I've been a fan since 2008. Back in those days hardly anyone even knew who the Vocaloids were unless they were Japanese. As an American I felt like I discovered something really cool and was super excited when they became popular. But she (Miku) quickly overshadowed the other Vocaloids which is such a shame because there are other really good sounding ones. (Meiko for example, she's my favorite.) But I am very happy for Miku's success. So happy 10th anniversary Miku, when you bring your tour to Nashville (or Evansville) I'll be the first one in line for tickets.

Only know about Miku around year 2009. The Project Diva on PSP caught my attention.

I've known about Vocaloids for about 2-3 years and think they are one of the neatest things I've ever seen. They're such a beautiful mix of technology and music, and I hope one day to see them in Concert.

Luka Megurine is my favorite though, and I believe her anniversary is actually the 30th of this month. Pretty sure it's not her 10th one though so I don't know if they have any big plans for her. EDIT: Yeah I just googled it, it'll only be her 8th anniversary, so maybe in two more years Luka will get a big celebration too.

Yep, January 30th--If you play the Project Diva games on the 'Loids' "birthdays" (or your own) and go to the characters' rooms, you can watch the party. Anime smile

(Most are conveniently lined up over the winter:
Meiko's is on Nov. 5, Len & Rin share Dec. 27, Kaito on Feb. 17, and Miku, of course, on Aug. 31.)
