I'm still wondering what relationship the Fullmetal Alchemist novel has to the series and/or manga (if any)...

The novels are side stories. They're authorized by Arakawa (who does illustration for them) and are more or less considered a part of manga canon by fans, unless a part actually contradicts the manga in which case the manga is considered canon. I've heard that some things that show up in the anime were originally from one of the novels rather than from the manga itself.

*crosses fingers that this may lead to the Tenchi novels being published*

I would just have a heart attack and die of joy if ever Viz were to release the three True Tenchi novels and even more so the 12 Hasegawa Tenchi novels. Perhaps these novels are an attempt to see if fan would be willing to buy novel versions of anime and manga series. Afterall, Tenchi would be a massive undertaking I'm sure.

I'm with you mate, but they're not that massive surely! Though Mr Kajishima was intending on writting up to six novels he only published three. They're the size of an A6 pocket novel and the largest one is the second book at 290 pages. Stuff the Hasegawa novels. They're just her fan fics. Good only for the TV universe if anyone cares about that. Rolling Eyes
