I like some of the designs and the art style.

Whether or not it can become big depends on how the merch and inevitable anime tie-in handle themselves though.

Pretty fond of the art style and the cast as well.

And 800k downloads? That's decent in my standards at least.

I wouldn't call it an idol game, I'd rather call it a showbiz game. The A3! stands for: Act! Addict! Actors!. You as the player manage a teather and a group of young trainee actors. Your job is basically to hold teather events and make your actors become world popular.

Besides Kakki, Konishi, Toshii and Ryoutaro, the rest are definitely not popular seiyuu.

I'm surprised that the article writer didn't mention the character designer. It's by the same person who designed Dynamic Chord's. The anime adaption of it got announced not too long ago on here. It's the one about the rock bands.

Quick thoughts on the 4 groups:

The spring troupe: Most of the seem to be teens, 15 and up. An international transfer is in it.

The summer troupe: The concept seems to be cutiness. They all look very cute, and there's a crossdresser among them.

The fall troupe: Bunch of Yankees.

Winter: They all dress really well, so I guess fashion is the concept here.

As for the reason why this got popular is because a lot of people liked Liber's other game: Aichuu. And basically, the hype is coming from Aichuu fans.

I've played it a bit, it seems interesting so far.

OP theme if anyone is interested:

Definitely Aichuu fans trying it out bc I downloaded it wanting to see what Liber has to bring lolol

Gameplay is similar to that of Enstar, excluding the Live 2D.
It's heavily story based too, but it's not too bad.
Just really... cutesy.
