Nowhere on the website does it say it's for the Philipenes.
Also, why is a TV channel in the Philipenes running an ENGLISH site on Blogspot. |

Yeah, a Tagalog website, run by a Philipino company, broadcasting outside of the philipines?
I didn't like that either, so I contacted ABS-CBN to verify if it was legit before posting anything. -t |

As mentioned in the side bar: "Narito na ang kauna-unahang All-Tagalog-Dubbed Anime Channel ng Bansa !" (Here comes the first All-Tagalog-Dubbed Anime Channel in the country!) "the country" would be the Philippines. I think it's going to be a local cable channel that will compete with Animax Asia. They're going to use Tagalog to gain the upper hand over the latter's English. The masses (kids in low income families) will probably prefer it over Animax, and of course, the higher classed kids will curse it to heck (Tagalog dubbed? eeeewww...).
The English part is easy to explain. Being a xenocentric, colonial minded, ex-American colony, Filipinos are quite fluent in English. Almost all Philippine websites (even blogs) are in English. It's not a purely English site, though. There's the sidebar I mentioned earlier, and there's also the comments posted by visitors. The blogspot site is temporary.. I hope they get a better one later. Also, another problem about this channel is that ABS-CBN only owns just a little over half of the localized titles... some of the recognized titles are still owned by their rival GMA and I'm sure the latter won't just fork over the rights to those titles.
Filipino is the official language of the Philippines. As a standardized dialect of Tagalog, "Filipino" and "Tagalog" can be interchanged in normal usage. In short, it's the language we use in day to day conversation here in the Philippines. |

Sarcasm is a bit difficult to detect online, but, if I remember correctly, Joe Mello is someone of Filipino origin just being tongue-in-cheek. |

I just saw this on the filipino news earlier on TFC channel. They were talking about this new station for anime, although all titles are gonna be dubbed in tagalog. They were also interviewing kids who have seen the show, and they also interviewed the voice actor of naruto. I actually saw one episode of naruto dubbed in tagalog, and its quite funny. Naruto has been airing on abs-cbn since last year. Speaking of anime on tv, almost all titles being broadcasted in this station are all anime now.
I think the Naruto Movie is also being shown in the theater soon. Now I wanna see Gundam SEED in tagalog dub. :D As posted on their blog spot: "colleen : Welcome ! Pls. bear with us on this temporary blog while the official CPI website is still in the works (hopefully, we'll have all sorts of cool stuff on the Hero site by then). But if I remember correctly, Joe Mello is someone of Russian (paternal), Italian (maternal), and Philadelphian (residential) origin. He's also a little ignorant, but if you take a little to get to know him, he's not so bad. You'll also learn in that time why the girls are all up ons. 
I do know someone from Singapore, though. I doubt that counts for anything. Anyway, thanks for answering my query. |

See, now that the hell is wrong with a Filipino dub? *Not aimed at you* This is pretty interesting Available for which CABLE providers? All? Also, did they ever move any further with NARUTO? I'm also wondering if they will release more stuff on DVD and crap this way... although, since piracy is terrible in the Philippines, they might just stick with keeping it all up to the ratings |

I think its gonna be available in all cable providers. It would be cool if they have it available on TFC channel. But that's not gonna happen.
The license they got is for broadcasting only. Plus there's no point having it on DVD. There's already the US Anime DVD's and the Region 3 Anime DVD releases. And not to forget the pirated DVD's :roll: . |

I see.  I'm kinda new here so I'm not really familiar with the people.
Yeah, a lot of the fansub spoiled kids just don't see that "desecrating" their favorite anime (ie. licensing it, dubbing it in Tagalog to make it more accessible to the masses) is still much better for the industry than freeloading off Japanese animation companies (ie. downloading fansubs).
I don't get to follow the series due to my work schedule, but some say ABS-CBN will show up to around ep 110. Right now Naruto has a decent rival in the same daily slot in the form of FMA.
DVD is almost out of the question. Aside from the piracy you guys mentioned, production costs for localized anime aren't that high. The last time a localized anime went on VCD was with Ragnarok: The Animation and it's only because they got the marketing and financial support of Level Up Games, the local publisher for Ragnarok Online Philippines... |

Just wondering...should we even have Uchuu Keiji Shaider listed on the Encyclopedia? It's live-action and not based on a manga or anime. Not to mention that it's part of a long list of Metal Heroes titles (i.e. Gavan, Sharivan, Juspion, etc.).
Oh, and a couple of things: 1. It's Philippines, NOT "Philipenes."

If my memory serves me correctly, on the Naruto Encyclopedia page, before there was a staff listed for the English version, there was a staff listed for a Tagalog version (and still is listed). That makes me ask, has there been a Tagalog Naruto Dub prior to this announcement?
By the way, I'm filipino, but I've grown up in the U.S., so though my parents speak tagalog all the time, my knowledge is somewhat limited. =P |

Naruto on ABS-CBN is currently on episode... 99 or 100. I think they're gonna air up to the end of season 4 only. But anyways, FMA was Naruto's rival before. Apparently, FMA was losing ratings over Naruto, so GMA pulled out FMA and replace it with their tried and tested Slam Dunk. They moved FMA to Sunday.
