Wow, she's the PERFECT choice, yet one I never considered...

They went with a newcomer for Bell but a veteran for Hestia? That's unexpected. But it's Luci Christian, so I'm cool with it. Smile

Same. i was expecting her to be in the show, but my money was on her being Lili. That being said she sounds great as Hestia (which should be expected since Luci Christian has always been great).

I keep liking the casting; you can't go wrong with Luci Christian. Sentai is not producing tons of English dubs anymore, but they really take seriously the few they produce.

I tend to disagree. They've started doing more dubs (unsurprising in a post-simuldub world), but their overall quality ranges from okay to terrible. They have plenty of good actors, with Luci one of the all-time best, but they are inferior to the rest of the market with crew quality and often leave shows that deserve dubs without ones.

Sentai dubs have a more casual, "community" feel that I really like. They're definitely different from Funimation or Bang Zoom dubs. And though Sentai's track record isn't as strong as theirs, I feel that they're improving.

I'm getting more excited about this dub. Sentai does a solid job when they put their minds to it and this is one show that has their full attention.

Sentai have improved greatly since a few years ago. I mean, remember Penguindrum? The acting was atrocious, Illich Guardiola made no attempt at hiding his accent like he does in every other role, the dub dialogue was so similar to the subtitles that people actually thought the disc had dubtitles, there was probably only 2 or 3 good casting choices and for some reason a whole bunch of voice actors got replaced halfway through.

The worst I've heard from them recently is Hanayamata but even with all the embarassing stuff ups you'd expect from a bad Sentai dub it had a basic amount of competence that stuff like Kids on the Slope and Medaka Box lacked. I actually thought the Nozaki-kun dub was legitimately really good.

From what I've heard the collector's box shows tend to get better dubs (I dunno whether to agree or not cause I thought NGNL was just 'okay') so this will probably end up being one of the better ones.

You know, Lili is probably going to be voiced by Brittney..... which is who I thought would be voicing Hestia and Lucy was someone I could see playing Lili. Weird how it turns out. But this looks good and Luci is a very good choice here.

Probably going to be hearing her soon in the new Full Metal Panic season that will no doubt be broadcast dubbed.

Hestia is the real star of that show. They needed someone who couldn't possibly mess up that character Wink

I will say that Bell sounds just fine in English too, though.

Not sure what you mean by community feel. If that means that they are tight community of actors, then maybe, but that is definitely more Funimation's thing; they're all practically like family around there (and some actually ARE family - Travis and Laura, anyone?). On the other hand, if you mean that they get people off the street within the community, then that sounds about right, but I'm wary of such a process resulting in good dubbing. I mean, I'm from Houston also (that Super Bowl, right?), and we have a decent actor base, but I can't be biased and will say for any community, just picking people off the street is awkward.

Considering that Sentai scarcely does dubs, it would be nice if they could put all of their dubs onto The Anime Network. That way, I don't resort to third-party sites to watch this dub.
