Do you mean "they" as in the Japanese or US publisher? Volume 26 is just now coming out in the US this month with Volume 27 coming out in September, so they're only two volumes behind Japan. I'm not aware of any delay in the Japanese release, though.

Kimi ni Todoke is actually my favorite shoujo manga and the only series right now that I'm fully caught up with on reading the US releases. However, I'm really hoping the series ends soon. Even though I love the series, I'm not a huge fan of really long running series so I'd rather it didn't get much further than volume 30.
