Hana ni Somu actually seems interesting, I'll might as well give it a shot since it's finished.
Rakugo definitely deserved that award. It's such an ambitious story that did very well with its delivery. Hopefully the mangaka will start his next work in the near future with just as much creativity. |

Two different josei series get the nod, wow. Ladies FTW!
Hopefully we will get Hana ni Somu in English sometime, it sounds interesting. |

Her. All three mangaka are women. Frankly Rakugo Shinjuu mostly lost me with the flashback - there was a lot I loved about it (mostly the actual rakugo stuff and Yota himself) but also a lot that I didn't (mostly related to Miyokichi, Sukeroku and Konatsu), so while I acknowledge that it's good stuff I ended up not exactly being in love with it. Hana ni Somu is also not quite the kind of manga I enjoy, but it does deserve the prize. |
