Not quite. Mount Wario and Rainbow Road N64 also use the three-section approach.

That wide gap leading down to the turn leading to the glide launch towards the final section is a high-risk, high-reward shortcut that can be really helping in the Grand Prix and online tournaments.
...and, yes, Big Blue isn't the only course that's run in three sections.

Sounds like something that will be impossible to pull off with the 'auto-steer' function that elitists insist is cheating .

Was this possible in vanilla Mario Kart 8? Regardless of if it is, how easy is it to do these? If it's easy enough, that's concerning for online play because it'll mean most other people online will start doing that too. There was a glitch in Mario Kart 7's Maka Wuhu course that allowed people to skip a lap, and it got so bad that tons of people were picking nothing but that course so they could finish races as quickly as possible. And it got bad enough that it was the subject of Nintendo's first patch.
Mario Kart 8 is more resistant to that as players online are asked to pick from three courses and a hidden fourth one, so Big Blue won't show up all the time. But when it does, I fear that everyone in the room will pick it and will drive single-file to attempt to perform what this person did just like with Maka Wuhu.

And if we count other Mario Kart games, Wuhu Loop, Maka Wuhu, and Rainbow Road 7 also used the three-section system.

It's certainly not easy, that's why only he himself is beating his record. And furthermore, a lot of what he pulled are only possible when you are going very fast (200 cc)

Ah, I see. So it's not going to become another Maka Wuhu. I was worried about that.

The only time Big Blue will get a record headline in a new video game. Seriously Nintendo, it's been 13 years.

At least this shows that Nintendo hasn't completely forgotten about F-Zero...
