Normally at this point.. I'd be commenting about fate beating a dead horse..
But I actually want to see an adaptation for Heaven's feel even more so then UBW.
Since its a movie it will be some time before Westerners get to see it after it's released.

What dead horse? Fate/Series has been going strong for many years. Especially now with the succes of Fate/Grand Order. Any joke you'd try to make wouldn't work xP

Fate/Dead Horse... see the punny I did there.

Good for Type-Moon to keep milking the same premise over and over.. It's even got alternate universe setups now... it's like the New Gundam Franchise. It's great and all unless your expecting something new from Type-Moon.. then it's not.

Just saying.

The premises for the alternative series are different, though they do share a magic system. Of the ones that have been adapted so far, Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya is probably the most different, with it being a Fate themed magical girl series. The plots of the alternatives are also significantly different. Admittedly most of the adaptations thus far are from Stay Night or the prequel Zero, so premise wise they are more similar, although this is more fully adapting the story rather than taking the same story and doing it over and over. To compare this to Gundam, calling this movie series beating a dead horse would be akin to saying Char's Counterattack was beating a dead horse. It is the conclusion to the main storyline, though the chronology of it is less straightforward than Gundam's.

While it is perfectly fine to not be interested in any further adaptations of the Fate (or Gundam) series, at some level it is unreasonable to expect something totally different. I mean, if you don't want to see historical or mythological figures (or giant robots) fighting then I don't know what you are expecting from them. Even if you aren't interested, there are clearly many many people who are, so to say either franchise is dead will seem absurd to most.

Hot damn, that's a cool visual. Can't wait to finally experience Heaven's Feel! Now if Ufotable could only give the Fate route the Brotherhood treatment...

If it's like Zero and UBW (which it is), this one is going to Aniplex. Unfortunate, but who can really complain when we're talking about Fate?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the mangaka forgot about that some time ago. Laughing

Interesting choice to put Saber on there so prominently with Rider because she seems to overshadow Rider to me even though they are the same size.

@RacistPenguin Not really. It's still a magical girl show, just not of the traditional variety, which it wasn't really in the first place. It has lost the magical girl parody aspect but even in the first season it was more a magical girl show in the vein of Nanoha (more action and male otaku oriented and a darker and more serious tone to the overall plot -not that traditional ones can't be or that it is as dark as the dark magical girl variety. Conflicts also are primarily between magical girls rather than cartoonish enemies). It has retained its comedic aspect, though mostly pertaining to loli yuri fanservice. But this isn't really the place for this, so I'll leave it at that.

It's absolutely going to be an aniplex of America release because it's a Ufotable production for Fate

Hope these movies don't suck as much as UBW, they should've brought back the guy who directed Fate/Zero.

Ei Aoki is currently busy with Re:Creators so he couldn't even if they wanted him to.

Also if it wasn't perfectly clear from the article, Tomonori Sudou was just the Chief Animation Director (and character designer) on UBW, not the general director, which was Takahiro Miura. Sudou also was an Animation Director and did Character Design for Zero.

^I'm actually pretty interested to see what Sudou is capable of. It's always nice when a former animator moves on to direct and storyboard. You usually end up with some more interesting stuff visually, in my experience. His only actual full directorial credit is Recalled Out Summer which still isn't really much to go on. Anime is so unpredictable, it's hard to judge a director based on just a couple of minor works. Or I'm at least not good enough at recognizing it.

Personally I'd like anime adaptations of every possible Type-Moon property related to Fate. I really like the stuff. But my interest primarily lies with anime and animation, so I'm less inclined to spend 60 hours playing the VN of FSN, or playing other various games that aren't really within my interests for other takes on the world and characters. I would probably read any that are adapted from books though(I don't even know if there are any other than Zero, I can't keep up with all of this...).
I'm ready for an Ufotable adaptation of the original Fate route too. I don't hate the DEEN one as much as some people, but it just stands out too much in a bad way when compared with UBW and Zero. And certainly HF as well. But skipping it entirely screws you out of a major arc within the story so I can't recommend that either.

Takahiro Miura will be doing the storyboards so it won't be much different than UBW sadly.
