New anime with Yoshinori's delicious middle bangs? Nice.
But well, I can't really dig the genre... sword-fighting tournanment between buddhist shrine maidens who saving the world from... "something"? Is it a sports or shounen?

Tournament anime from Gokumi? Sounds good to me. Not looking likely that the next Saki anime will have enough content anytime soon since the manga keeps drawing out the matches.

Just please don't be one of those yuri-bait shows (as the thumbnail may imply). Mostly-girl cast shows that I prefer are along the lines of "Sakura Quest".

I guess you do not like CGDCT (KinMoza, GochiUsa) and yuri (Sakura Trick, Yuru Yuri). But if you mean yuri-bait as in the levels of Hibike and LWA, then I agree with you.

I hope this will not be another lame harem anime. I am getting sick and tired of seeing the same old garbage every season.

John Hayabusa, I have seen "K-ON!" but was before I started hating that yuri-baiting trope. CGDCT is not necessarily a I thing I dislike but it's how it's presented. Those shows you listed, I have not seen.

Well, Yuuki Yuuna (another Gokumi original) certainly was yuri. If it is yuri and you can't stomach it then I'm sure you can find something else to watch

An all-girls swordfighting tournament...This should be wildly interesting.

You're not the only person who feels this way as I too share your views.

I've never really understood that myself. I've never seen anyone complain about shows with "het-baiting" or just simple "baiting" when pairs that are very much hinted at with various amount of subtext never pan out. I've never seen anyone call out One Week Friends for instance for being "bait". I've never seen anyone call out Erased for baiting a pairing that never actually surfaced.

Can someone explain to me why it is that yuri gets called out for "bait" when nothing else does? It's rather annoying to me and I can't really understand it.

For me, I enjoy the character interaction regardless of whether or not the relationship pans out. As long as the character interaction is entertaining, that's what matters.

Double standards I guess. There are like plenty of BL-bait shows but you don't read about them that much. For hetero-bait, I call out "Shippuden" for the NaruSaku bait.
