Considering Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon are new games and the Pokke Tournament is just a port of an already existing game, I think changing the title to reflect that would make it better.

Main Pokemon games attract more attention than the spin-offs/side games anyway. Just my two cents.

True, but the presentation clearly made it that Pokken was the main feature, and that US/UM were extra goodies to be announced.

I'm hoping that US/UM have the National Dex, that was a real turn-off for me in Sun. I'm also holding out for a Crystal (FULL Crystal, including the GS Ball!) VC release.

Looks like Necrozma is doing the thing Kyurem does.

Kinda disappointed this is happening only a year after S/M. It's usually 2 years before the "definitive version".

There's something funny about Pokken Tournament DX being the headline title, while Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon and Gold and Silver for the Virtual Console seem to be just the subtitle. Razz

Also, congratulations to Game Freak and Nintendo for keeping US and UM under wraps all the way until now. (Minus the whole potential Pokemon Stars for the Switch that's been hinted at)

I'm wondering if the US/UM is because recent sales of S/M have plummeted beyond their expectations. To me, S/M felt like a very incomplete game, especially when compared to X/Y. I hope the new version not only has a better plot but includes more Pokemon in the game. I'd also love for it to get rid of Team Skull's stupid movements and the lame Z move dancing. Or just abolish the Z moves altogether. The mega evolutions from X and Y were far superior.

Aside from the lack of a National Pokedex, I also disliked the lack of Mega Stones that could be collected legitimately, and I hope more official methods can help with this. Also like with other later releases in a Pokemon generation, there will likely be Move Tutors as well.

The Switch continues to be a port machine. *sigh* You better have something good up your sleeve for E3 Nintendo. This wasn't a good start.

Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are not all of that exciting either, to be honest. Sun/Moon just felt lacking in so many departments. If they weren't going to do anything original they should have gone with Diamond/Pearl remakes. They would have been so much more exciting than exploring a limited region such as Alola again.

Oh well, if they add new Alola forms from generations beyond GI and they add back the National Dex it might be worth it. Otherwise I don't know.

Gold/Silver are a must for VC. But the lack of Crystal makes me sad.

I'm excited for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon! Smile I'm interested in seeing how much of a larger influence Necrozma will have in its alternate story.

Actually less than two years for some of the games though I don't see what the length of time in between releases has to do with anything.

Which wouldn't have been original at all.

Game sold about 15 million worldwide and is one of the fastest selling titles on the 3DS I would think if the sales were below their expectations they wouldn't have announced these two games.

Yes, that's what I said. It wouldn't have been original, but it would have been more fun to play a remake of a ten year old game than a rehash of a game that was released not even a year ago.

Which is why I said usually. This is the quickest update release since Pokemon Yellow. I just don't want the Pokemon games to release yearly like other titles especially if they're just retellings.

Technically, Blue was the updated game. Yellow was just a special bonus game. Since the Western Red and Blue were the Japanese Blue, Yellow was released sooner, becoming the "third" in generation one.
