Listen all ya'll in Japan, stop trying to figure out what the Claris girls look like. They don't want to show their faces right away. They'll show their faces if they want to.

Though if they do show their faces, that will make two secretive Japanese artists that reveal their faces; nano hid her face for awhile too, and she revealed her face last year (I think?). It was so shocking when I saw her face, I was like Shocked

I've analyzed the photos closely & cross-referenced them with previous ClariS photos & images of other idols & I can confirm within a reasonable margin of error that they do have mouths which appear to work in the same way regular women's mouths do. This is the biggest revelation about idols since the time that AKB48 member was made to shave her head, proving that idols do indeed grow human hair like the rest of us. Truly this is a great time to be alive.

Shocked Amazing deductions! I never would've assumed they had normal mouths. I thought they just produced sound from some speaker box on their chest or something.

Still other commenters propagated the rumor that the duo must be unattractive, and that is the real reason why they never show their faces.

Um, no. Wiki says:

I don't blame them for wanting some privacy, and to keep their work separate from school.

They seem to have the height of a typical high school girl.

Pretty common thing for Japanese artists to cover their faces. For example: EGOIST's Chelly, MAN WITH A MISSION, FACT (defunct rock band) and until recently, Aimer. There are some western artists who do it too, most notably Daft Punk and Sia. Not really a fan of it, but I can understand their reasoning: it adds an aura of mystique, increases their novelty factor to an extent, as well as helps with anonymity in public.

These people need to chill. Who said they were ugly?? I can tell even with the masks on they're beautiful. I also like that they want their privacy, it helps keep their lives less chaotic , especially since they're young and still trying to live as normal people in their life.

That's a great excuse to avoid showing your face during your public appearances. Yeah, not going to buy that for a minute. They could be unattractive women and this is their management's excuse. Whatever. Honestly, I don't care what they look like, but sadly there are many people in this world that will only support an artist if they want to bang him/her.

Actually, the most obvious "excuse" for not showing their faces is because it allows them to keep their "performance life" and "real life" completely separate. By which I mean, ESPECIALLY considering Japan's "idol culture" and their age, it would allow them to even have boyfriends or something without "ruining the illusion" of their public personas. I mean, considering that even voice actors have run into trouble for that, it makes sense that some girls would prefer to not have the press and fans know what they actually look like in real life if they can get away with it.

I've personally never been a fan of revealing faces behind the voices. Heart been broken many times that the face doesn't match the voice. It only lasts for 5 seconds then I move on. lol
