Ouch! That's a major blow to the Umamusume team.

For the record, I listen to both radios (Kemono-Friends radio and Pakaradi) on HiBiKi.

Does the otaku contingent intersect with Japanese horse racing viewers? While the two hobbies are both seen as somewhat insular, I would reckon further similarities between the two groups would be few.

Umamusume was created to tie into the racing industry, but looks like the major racing industries stuck with the brand name that the public knew. (Or that they knew, ftm.)

A Centaur's Life's manga was already around before the Monster Girls craze, that one was just a matter of when-not-if.

Most of the non-otaku "Personified-object girls" being adopted by mainstream businesses as mascots isn't technically meant FOR the otaku, but it is more cynically "Maybe you'll notice us now if we have cute 2-D girls?" Thanks for the culturally-stereotypic compliment.
(Sort of like back in the 80's, when Marine recruitment ads tried to tie the USMC in to video games or medieval dungeon-fantasy, to sell their "challenge" to high-school teens...Boy, were they courting the wrong demographic.)

Is "Seal brown" the black-Arabian Friend, btw? Major babe, and hot to trot. Cool
