I feel massively underwhelmed by this announcement. CrunchyCon kept plugging themselves as being the best event in town but the only thing they could ever show on their Facebook page was their premium lanyard and goodie bag.

This announcement solidifies that, really, CrunchyCon is all talk. While Amano is cool, I'm not super thrilled with Shimizu and the dub actors could go walk off a short pier for all I care. I don't care about dubs.

Might attend but definitely not going to be buying that $350 VIP Plus ticket. That money is better spent at AnimeFest instead.

I have to agree with Cutiebunny even though this con is right in my backyard I am totally underwhelmed with these guest announcements. As for now that $350 VIP badge not a chance in hell, I'm getting the same vibe which reminds me of Japan Expo all over again but with a $150 price increase.

Crunchyroll better get their act together if they don't want to flop big time their first year.

And after reading the lines from Hell at Anime Expo this year I'm glad I didn't waste my time attending, the money saved I can go to Japan again.

If it's more dub guests, yeah no...they can forget me spending $350.

The con is less than two months away. Did they wait to make the announcement at AX or did they only finalize these guests recently? I was getting worried that they hadn't made any announcements even though the con was coming up soon.

Here's to hoping they don't announce huge guests the week before con like AX did.

Shimizu was a great guest when we had him in 2013. He came along with Sayo Yamamoto when she was one of Guests of Honor. They live drew/animated a scene for us. It was wonderful.

I think its amusing/interesting that (so far) two different companies have used time in panels at AnimeExpo to promote things they're doing at OTHER conventions. I think that's a statement on just how much of a "trade show" AX has become.
