Would love a Catherine game for PS4. Loved it on the PS3, one of my favorite games of all time ~

I really hope this happens, I've missed solving deadly falling block puzzles while great remixed classical music plays in the background!
I'm mostly serious, I played the original for more hours than I probably should've because I couldn't get enough of the blocks squashing me while trying to master it. Well, that and even the side characters (eg. the other stray sheep in there with you) ended up having interesting stories if you explore them to completion. |

I really loved Catherine but I dont want Catherine 2, instead I want Atlus make series out of Golden playhouse. With each entry there is new story and unique gameplay.

They've already announced the Persona 5 anime, and between the two in-development Persona games, two in-development Etrian games, and the projects discussed in this article, Atlus might have too much in the pipeline to entertain the possibility of a non-Persona anime adaptation right now (especially considering that both Persona Q and Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 require multiple teams to mingle together... they're spreading their creative talent pretty thin these days). Then again, I guess they could take a real hands-off approach to a Catherine anime, and just let the anime studio handle it without heavy supervision, but that doesn't seem like Atlus's style nowadays. |

I really hope this follow-up is just keeping the Golden Playhouse framework and doesn't try to directly continue the story of the first game. And if it's literally called Catherine 2, then hopefully it's a stand-alone story that just happens to also focus on a woman (or women) named Catherine.
Also, I guess Trisha being the host again means the Babel mode ending is non-canon? Shame, it would've been fun to see a new host each "episode." Then again...
...maybe this isn't actually a joke? |

I dunno. I really enjoyed Catherine.
But for the first time ever, I'm actually hoping more of a remix or expansion rather than a sequel. I think I really have mixed feelings about this. Nevertheless, I wonder what console they're developing it for. I wonder whether they'll add a social link system in it too... |

I didn't really play much of the Catherine game I own on the PS3, but I did enjoy watching various gameplay playthroughs of the different scenarios and cutscenes on YouTube when the game was newer. I'd definitely be interesting in seeing a Catherine anime announced sometime after the game is released. Kind of like how Akiba's Trip got an anime during Akiba's Beat being released as a new game.
I hope this new Catherine game gets released on the Switch as well, alongside the PS4 and XBox One. A remastered version of the original Catherine would be great too, like how several PS3 games have been re-released on the PS4. There was Darksiders II, God of War III, Deadpool, Back to the Future The Game, the Kingdom Hearts games, Bioshock, and some others, so it's not impossible for Catherine to get a remastered re-release, I hope. |
