Basketball isn't even popular in Japan and a basketball game still beat MvC. Sad!

Marvel is kusoge and unsold in Japan so these numbers might be normal.

Eh. Congrats to the Remaster of a two year old game!

What is an NBA game doing at 4th place and outdoing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?

Well, there's Slam Dunk and Kuroko's Basketball, both of which have become anime/manga cornerstones in Japan. So they at least probably know the rules to basketball.

Kusoge, huh? They're really harsh with those fighting games in Japan, especially ones aimed at the west, huh? What is the status of Smash Bros. there, as I'm pretty sure it's one of the bestselling titles in Japan too?

Smash Bros sells decently, these are the debuts of the latest games.

1. [3DS] Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS (Nintendo, 09/13/14) – 944,644 (New) [a day before sales tracking]

1. [WIU] Super Smash Bros. for Wii U – 227,527 / NEW (12/06/14) [Low since it was a day before the sales tracking and the Wii U's little base]

01./00. [WII] Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Nintendo) - 819,647 / NEW [Released in 01/31/2008, sales tracked in 02/03 of same year]

Melee = 358,525. Dunno about 64.

Not Kusoge in this case. 64 maybe comes close to that.
