It takes massive stones to insult the very people who give you a job.

Y'know, when Cartoon Network in the 00's tried to bump the vintage-rerun toons off their network, make more room for their originals, and started their first big slippery slide with the now infamous "Some people still want to watch the same shows they saw as kids...Scary, huh?" tagline, we all claimed they were being a**h***s.

It's scary to think that actually sounds tasteful compared to what Japan happily says about its own anime fans. Shocked
Let alone those in the industry responsible for creating the series.

So fun has an age limit? We're not allowed to enjoy certain fictional material past a certain age? Who died and let him decide this?

"I'm sorry I called you disabled. That was wrong. What I meant to say was you're bottom feeding animals. So, do you wanna see my movie?" I imagine it sounded like this

He sure is trying his damnedest to become unemployed, isn't he? At this point, if I had put any money into his Twilight movie, I'd be asking for my money back. It is best to separate the man from his work, but who wants to support anything this washed-up internet troll makes at this point?

He's taking cues from game devs and comicbook writers, it seems.

I think he is the type of guy who needs to step out of him mother's basement and go outside to play with friends. Just saying.

As a real disabled otaku, I must admit I am more than a little pissed few seem to see much of a problem associating disabilities to an abnormal state. Sorry if I am biased, but that seems to be the more controversial point of his all-around insulting post.

Hmmm...at my age (let's just say that Speed Racer was a big part of my childhood), I should have been spending the last twenty years collecting disability.

Sounds to me like this clown should give up anime production and find more mature fulfillment as a wage slave--er, I mean salaryman.

His apology basically reads "I am sorry, otaku are not disabled, they're stupid and animals".
Come on man. Does he not understand how this shit reads? Even not apologizing would've been a better choice.

Then again, his one reply on another tweet suggests a person to "block words that offend them" in initial response to the backlash. A classic internet troll stance if I've ever seen one.

This guy is 43 years old.
Classic yamakan.

It is always impressive when someone insults their audience, realizes they used a poorly considered insult, and than doubles down with a different insult. What he doesn't understand is that the reason that some Hollywood celebrities get away with is that they work for huge corporations that can do damage control afterwards. Also even the worst Hollywood celebrities don't insult 100% of their audience and that level of hubris is rare.
