Bandai has been having a lot of success with their recent line of anime figure / gunpla hybrid kits (basically the latest form of the "mecha musume" trend that's been floating around the Japanese Gundam fandom since the early '80s), so it makes sense that as the fans of the original LBX shows get older, the creators would want to put out a new fanservice-oriented installment.

I can't say that I'm really that interested in the franchise, but the 3DS game managed to keep me entertained for about a hundred hours of buggy gameplay, which isn't bad considering how little I paid for it (I think Amazon is still selling new copies for under ten bucks).

Honestly, are these companies thinking the only thing older anime fans like is fanservice? The Japanese market is oversaturated with fanservice-oriented franchises, imo.

I like the character design for Joker but the entire idea for this project is strange. I get the idea of aging the sequel of a show up as the audience grows up but making a ecchi battle show as a spin off of a kids show takes that too far. I am skeptical that this was really needed when making a completely original ecchi battle show would have been easy.

YES! Level 5 is back to doing fanservice! After playing Rogue Galaxy earlier this year, this is what I wanted from Level 5 to return to doing. Dat song is fire! Also, The Emperor is waifu. Achilles is 2nd best girl.
