HxH and Berserk may go on hiatus a lot, but even that pales in comparison to X the manga which has been on hiatus for 14 YEARS!!!!!

Was the reason of X's hiatus ever explained. I only heard two theories:
1. Too violent ending planned which was unsuitable for the young readers since the manga some gory scenes
2. Clamp has no idea how to end it

Dammit guys. I checked this article's forum thread to see if there was anyone familiar with the manga, not talk about hiatuses.
Man, I have a soft spot for old school fantasy manga like these.

No explantion was given from what I know but my theory is that the TV and movie pretty much did it for them as both adaptations have wildly different endings because of the source material ending up running out.

Geez this was out of the publication for 15 years? For the author a lot has changed over the years. I don't know if people even know it exist or have a fanbase?
